When should I have an additional calculation made for my shelter?

What have we already calculated for you? And when do we advise having a configuration calculated separately? This way, you can be sure that the structure is suitable for your application and will remain stable under the conditions in which you use the shelter.

For our standard shelters, we have already arranged the calculation in accordance with EN 13782. The accompanying buildbook, including structural drawings and calculations, can be requested from us free of charge. For semi-permanent installation or installation higher than one container, an additional calculation may be required.

So, what have we already calculated for you?

All our shelters have been calculated for installation at the height of one container. The exception to this is the 12- and 15-metre widths in arched roof design; these have been calculated for two containers. The shelters have been calculated for a combined wind and snow load in accordance with EN 13782, the European standard for temporary structures. Below you will find an overview of the wind and snow load of our shelters.

When might an additional calculation be required?

Bart, engineer at Kroftman, explains this in the video ‘More than just the price: what should you pay attention to?’. In this video, he explains why a calculated structure is important and what the EN 13782 standard means for temporary shelters. Also read our blog ‘When is a static calculation required for your shelter?’ for more information about situations in which an additional calculation may be needed.
