Concrete Blocks as a Base
Concrete blocks, also known as legio blocks, mega blocks, or stackable blocks, form an excellent base for our shelters. These elements offer several advantages:
Quick and easy assembly without adhesives
Suitable for both temporary and permanent applications
Easy to stack and relocate
Stable on a flat, load-bearing surface
Adaptable to your needs
Key Considerations for Concrete Walls
For a smooth installation, it is crucial to position the walls at the correct distance. Measure both at the base and the top of the concrete wall to prevent misalignment.
The maximum distance between the concrete walls for a single setup:
Type Distance
CTA806 7.8 meters
CTA812 7.8 meters
CTA1012 9.8 meters
Note: Always refer to the technical drawings for exact measurements and tolerances, especially when installing multiple shelters side by side.
Mounting on the Wall
The base rail of the bunker silo shelter is secured to the wall with concrete anchors. This option can be added to your order. For optimal attachment, a flat top surface on the concrete wall is essential.
Tip: If using concrete blocks with a rounded or uneven top, installing a single shelter is possible as long as the spacing matches the technical drawing. However, placing multiple shelters side by side is not feasible in this case.
Extension and Enclosure
You can extend your bunker silo shelter in increments of 6 meters, with no maximum length. Our design is optimized for this. Additionally, you can enclose the back of your concrete wall by combining the shelter with a back wall. This ensures optimal enclosure while keeping the front accessible for equipment such as a loader.
Structural Calculation for Your Concrete Wall
A professional structural calculation is recommended in the following situations:
This calculation ensures that your existing concrete wall can bear the additional load. Kroftman can connect you with a qualified structural engineer for this calculation.
