Can we produce fully customized shelters?

We often get the question: can we also create custom-made shelters? The answer is simple: yes, we can! A custom product, however, means a process tailored entirely to your specific needs. This also means the costs are higher than the standard options shown on our website. In addition, you should expect a longer lead time. On average, we work with a lead time of 20 weeks, and the additional cost for a custom-made shelter starts at €3,590 on top of the price of a standard model.

Standard sizes with structural report according to EN 13782

Kroftman offers shelters that come with a structural report according to the EN 13782 standard. This standard applies to temporary structures such as shelters and ensures the construction is safe to use under various weather conditions. We highlight this under our “Quality and Conformity” concept, offering certainty regarding the safety and quality of our products.

Our engineers continuously expand our product range, enabling us to offer more standard sizes with structural documentation. However, if your situation requires specific dimensions, higher wind or snow loads, or a steel version, we can also provide a tailored solution.

Adjusting the Width or Length of Your Shelter

Length

Our shelters can be extended in standard 6-meter modules, with no limit to total length. The frame and cover are designed in such a way that you can easily add extra modules.

Want a non-standard extension? That’s also possible in any desired length. The cost depends on the chosen length and any adjustments to the spacing between frames. Below is an overview of our standard range including the frame spacing per model.

Width

Our standard shelters are available in various widths, as shown in the table below. For custom widths, we can provide solutions up to a maximum width of 15 meters.

Adjusting Wind and Snow Load

Our standard shelters are suitable for various levels of wind and snow load, depending on the selected model.

• Snow load capacity: Between 0.2 and 0.3 kN/m²

• Wind load capacity: Between 0.3 and 0.5 kN/m²

Do you need to ensure the shelter withstands more extreme weather conditions? We can arrange for a structural analysis that meets your specific requirements. Here you can find an example of a standard calculation. Based on the outcome, we determine to what extent the shelter needs to be modified. The cost of this analysis is fixed in advance, but the impact on the total shelter price depends on the required modifications.

Would you like a standard shelter to be calculated specifically for your location?

That’s also possible. With such a calculation, you can be sure the structure meets local requirements. These requests often arise due to municipal regulations or are made to ensure extra safety for example, when expensive goods are stored underneath or if a loose cover could cause damage in the surrounding area. The outcome of the structural analysis may lead to product adjustments.

A Fully Tailored Process for a Custom Shelter

If you choose a custom-made shelter, you’ll also receive a fully customized process. Our engineering department will translate your specific requirements into a matching design. This includes:

• A custom-designed product

• Including drawings, manuals, and calculations (if requested)

To achieve this, our engineers perform all necessary modifications, ensure quality checks, and prepare the production. The lead time depends on the scope of changes and typically takes 20 weeks. After confirming the order, and when applicable, upon approval of the structural analysis, the lead time is 16 weeks.

Depending on your requested changes, you’ll receive a detailed quote. If you're only adjusting the length, you'll receive a fixed price quote upfront.   The shelter is extended using a non-standard frame spacing, which may require additional engineering.

  For custom widths, a custom length does not affect the price further.

Structural Calculations

• Calculation for custom length – €5,720

  Ensures the modified length meets safety and stability standards.

• Calculation for custom width and/or length – €9,620

  Covers both width and possible length modifications.

• Calculation for a standard shelter at a specific location – €3,750

  Suitable for local regulation compliance or added safety assurance.
