Extending Your Existing Kroftman storage building to Maximum Length

At Kroftman, we offer storage buildings in various length, width, and height dimensions. All our storage building models can be extended to a maximum length. The width of the storage building cannot be increased or decreased. Below is an overview of these dimensions for each type of storage building.

If you want to extend your storage building and do not exceed the maximum length of your storage building type, you can do so by:

  • Extending your concrete foundation (if necessary). Consult a structural engineer for the correct strength calculation and connecting the two parts of the foundation. There should be no height difference.
  • Ordering the additional parts for the storage building from us. This can only be done by phone. It is important to mention the type of storage building you have, how many extensions you want (see table above), and the color of your current cladding and trims.
  • Removing the front or back facade of the storage building. Then, attach one or more additional segments to the existing shed and screw on the cladding and trims.
  • Replace the front or back facade. And your extended storage building is ready.

Note when extending a storage building

When you extend a storage building using segments or even attaching an entire storage building to your existing storage building, there are some caveats to consider. If you remove the front or back facade, you also remove the sheet material and trims. When you then replace the facade, you will not be able to place them all back in exactly the same place. So you will have leftover screw holes, which is not aesthetically pleasing. If you do not want this, you can also order new cladding and trims for the facade. Another unsightly aspect is the color difference between the new cladding and trims and the old version. Even if you order the same color cladding and trims, this color difference cannot be avoided. Due to weathering, the color of the old parts will always be different.

You can only order the extra segments to extend your storage building to its maximum length through our sales department, not via our website. Please contact us by phone so that we can process this order for you.
