Can we produce fully customized shelters?
9 min temps de lecture

Whether you want to create temporary or permanent storage space, need protection against the elements, or require a shelter for containers or outdoor sites, choosing a Kroftman shelter guarantees certainty in every respect.
Each shelter is thoughtfully designed: from a strong, corrosion-resistant steel structure to tarpaulins tested for fire safety, tensile strength, and long-term exposure to weather conditions. Our product embodies quality, safety, and full transparency.
What does this concretely mean for you as a customer?

The supporting structure of every Kroftman shelter is made from cold-rolled, galvanized S355 structural steel. Thanks to galvanization according to EN 10346 and additional electrolytic galvanizing as per EN 10152, the steel structure withstands prolonged exposure to moisture, temperature fluctuations, and UV radiation. Bolt connections, partly combined with welded components, ensure a stable and secure construction that can be mounted quickly and efficiently.
Curious why we chose steel? Watch this video where we briefly explain our considerations.

Depending on your preference and project requirements, you can choose between a PVC or HDPE cover:
PVC cover
With a weight of 610 g/m², the PVC cover is the robust option, suitable for applications with extra fire safety requirements.
High tensile strength (>2500 N/5 cm)
Fire safety certification according to EN 13501-1 (B-s1, d0) & DIN 4102 B1
Temperature resistant from -30°C to +70°C
UV stabilized for long-term use
HDPE cover
The 300 g/m² HDPE cover is a lighter, efficient choice, particularly suitable where lower loads or ease of installation is important. This cover is also tested for fire safety, though certification levels are somewhat lower.
TÜV-tested tensile strength (>800 N/5 cm) and fire behavior
Lightweight but durable
Temperature resistant from -40°C to +70°C
Also UV resistant
Both options are designed for long-term use in demanding environments. The covers come with clear test and certification reports available upon request.
We have also visualized the differences in a video. Watch it to find out which type best suits your situation.
A safe shelters starts with responsible use. That’s why we provide clear guidelines:
Storage:
Store the tarpaulin dry, flat, and well ventilated
Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight during storage
Installation:
Only to be carried out by qualified personnel
Use of personal protective equipment mandatory (helmet, gloves, fall protection)
Beware of cutting hazards from metal edges
Installation at height only with approved lifting equipment and scaffolding
Use:
The structure is tested for wind and snow loads (depending on the model)
Always keep heat sources and open flames away from the cover
To optimally preserve your shelter, maintenance can be easily integrated into your regular inspections:
Clean with a neutral detergent (pH 6–8)
Avoid solvents, chlorine, or abrasive products
Visually check clamps, tension cables, and frame components at least twice a year
With minimal effort, you significantly extend the service life of your shelter.

We consider the entire product lifecycle. Materials used can be processed in an environmentally friendly way:
Steel parts are 100% recyclable as scrap (according to Eural 17 04 05)
PVC and HDPE covers can be thermally processed according to local regulations
Thus, after use, you avoid burdening the environment. A responsible choice.
Quality also means openness. That’s why test reports are available for every type of cover and construction:
PVC: Fire report according to EN 13501-1 and certification according to DIN 4102 B1 (SGS, BACO)
HDPE: TÜV reports for tensile strength and fire safety (2010–2013)
On request, you can inspect the original reports. You can also receive the build book with all mandatory technical calculations digitally or physically. After requesting, you will receive an email to provide your details for delivery. This way, you know exactly what you are choosing and can rely on it.
