What is the difference between PE and PVC?2025-03-24T11:25:19+00:00
PVC is stronger than PE and therefore lasts longer. We offer a 3-year warranty for PE and 10 years for PVC. The tensile and tear strength of PVC is almost twice as high. PVC also has flame-retardant properties. In this video, we explain everything in detail: https://www.kroftman.com/en-eu/pe-or-pvc/
Where can I find the manual?2025-03-24T12:40:55+00:00
For each frame and tarpaulin, an assembly manual is available. You can find this manual both in the packaging and online, where you can download it per product.
Is the product strong enough for high wind and/or snow loads?2025-03-24T11:34:43+00:00
Yes, our container shelters are designed to withstand high wind and snow loads. Depending on the model, the maximum snow loads range from 0.2 to 0.3 kN/m², and the maximum wind loads range from 0.3 to 0.5 kN/m².
Our shelters comply with the European standard EN13782, which means they are calculated for combined wind and snow loads for extra safety. In the product specifications, you will find the exact maximum values, as specified in the official structural calculations. We recommend placing the shelter only under conditions that fall within these limits. Installation in areas with higher wind or snow loads is at your own risk. https://www.kroftman.com/en-eu/308579/

The distance between the containers differs from the dimensions on the drawing. Can I still install the shelter?2025-03-24T12:44:39+00:00
That is possible, but please note that the deviation from the dimensions on the drawing can be a maximum of 3 cm. In the manual, you will find the exact dimensions and an explanation of how to measure these dimensions accurately.
Is the tent fabric fireproof?2025-03-24T11:49:01+00:00
Yes, note: PVC tarpaulin is more fire-resistant than PE tarpaulin. In terms of fire safety, PVC clearly has the advantage. Although it is unlikely that either PE or PVC will catch fire, for example, when using an angle grinder, PE will continue to burn once it is ignited. PVC, on the other hand, is flame-retardant and self-extinguishing, providing extra safety.

Can I still assemble my shelter if my containers are not evenly high?2025-03-24T12:47:02+00:00
It is possible to combine containers with a height difference of up to 20 cm with a shelter. The larger the shelter, the more tolerance is allowed for the height difference. Ensure that you measure or check the gap at the top of the containers to ensure they are correctly positioned. Consult the installation manual for this. If you also use walls, it is important that the dimensions deviate minimally; otherwise, the walls may not fit properly. With only a shleter, the tolerance for deviations is greater, but with walls, precision is essential.
What does the EN13782 standard mean for my container shelter?2025-03-24T11:53:27+00:00
The European standard EN13782 sets requirements for the design and construction of temporary structures, such as container shelters. This standard ensures that the shelter is safe and stable, even under changing weather conditions. It includes material specifications, calculations of wind and snow loads, stability checks, and the strength of connections.
Our products are designed and tested according to this standard. This means that you are assured of a safe and reliable shelter that complies with European guidelines.

What tools are needed to assemble a shelter on containers?2025-03-24T12:50:28+00:00
In addition to a scissor lift and/or scaffold, you will need small tools such as a socket set with individual wrenches or an impact drill.
Are there strength calculations for the products?2025-03-24T11:58:58+00:00
Yes, the strength calculations of the products can be found in the construction manual. This book contains all the technical details and calculations necessary for the safety and stability of the shelters. You can request the construction manual free of charge, both online and physically. https://www.kroftman.com/nl-nl/quality-and-conformity/
Is a shelter with two tarps also waterproof?2025-03-24T12:53:44+00:00
For shelters with a length of 12 meters or longer, we supply tarps of 6 meters. The design is made so that these tarps can be laid end-to-end on the frame using an overlap. This ensures that the shelter remains waterproof.
What is the frame made of?2025-03-24T12:06:33+00:00
We choose steel for its strength and durability. Steel wears less, is more resistant to the elements, and lasts longer. Additionally, steel is much more cost-effective, saving money without compromising quality. It meets European standards and is also a more sustainable choice, making it the logical option for reliability and efficiency.
Watch the video: https://www.kroftman.com/en-eu/why-do-we-use-steel-instead-of-aluminium/
How do I attach the tarp to the frame?2025-03-24T12:57:48+00:00
Roll the tarpaulin out on the ground and fold it so that you can easily unroll it over the frame. Attach the tarpaulin to one side on top of the container with a tie wrap. Then, throw the tie wrap over the frame to the other side and pull the tarpaulin over it.
For further instructions, please refer to the manual.
Do I need a permit for my container shelter?2025-03-24T12:10:03+00:00
For a container shelter, an environmental permit may sometimes be required. Whether this is the case depends on various factors, such as where and for how long the container shelter is placed and what it is used for. Please inquire with the local municipality about the requirements.
To support your permit application, we provide the construction drawings and strength calculations of the products free of charge in the form of the construction manual. This book contains all the technical details and calculations needed for the safety and stability of the shelters. You can request the construction manual free of charge, both online and physically.
More information about permits can be found in this blog: https://www.kroftman.com/en-eu/do-i-need-a-permit-for-my-container-shelter/
What should I do with the packaging?2025-03-24T13:16:26+00:00
The tarps are packaged in boxes, while the frames are delivered in steel and wooden crates. Keep the packaging to store or transport the product later. If you do not reuse it, the packaging can be disposed of.
What is the delivery time for the shelter?2025-03-24T12:16:58+00:00
Our warehouse in Babberich has a large stock of container shelters, allowing us to process orders quickly. If your order is in stock and payment has been received, we can hand it over to our transport company within two days. This results in a delivery time of approximately one week within the Netherlands, and one to two weeks for deliveries to Germany.

What are the payment terms?2025-03-24T12:25:08+00:00
For orders with a value under €5,000, we require a 100% prepayment. For orders with a higher value, it is possible to pay 50% in advance and the remaining 50% upon delivery. Payment on account is possible if a positive credit rating has been issued. For this, we work with Allianz Trade.
Can I order spare parts if something breaks on my shelter?2025-03-24T13:36:23+00:00
Yes, it is possible to order individual parts if something breaks on your shelter. In most cases, damage to the shelter can be repaired by replacing a part. We offer additional parts in sets for this purpose. You can download the overview of these additional parts per product from our website. Unsure about the right solution? Then, feel free to contact us.
What is best to purchase if I don’t have any containers yet?2025-03-24T11:01:21+00:00
We advise thinking primarily based on your desired situation. With our attachment options, you can combine almost endlessly. Combine multiple containers side by side, on top of each other, in a row, combine one container with a side wall, or place the containers with the doors inward.
