Large-scale renovation
of the Juliana Canal

13 May 25

During the renovation of the Juliana Canal, along a four-kilometer section, two 8 by 12 meter shelters with arched roofs were used. This part of the canal, located between Berg and Obbicht, was temporarily drained to allow for widening and reinforcement. The goal: to make the waterway suitable for inland vessels up to 190 meters, improving the connection between Antwerp and the Ruhr area.

Our shelters were installed on top of containers and provided covered storage space for equipment and machinery. This setup kept materials well protected from both rain and sun. While rain is often seen as the main threat, the impact of sun on equipment is still too often underestimated.
